About Oialla
Founder Presentation
Rasmus Bo Bojesen has spent a lifetime exploring flavour, craft and the origins of taste. Trained as a classical chef, he soon realised that great gastronomy doesn’t begin in the kitchen – it begins in nature, with the people who cultivate it and the traditions that shape it.
This philosophy led him to the Bolivian rainforest, where wild cocoa trees have grown untouched for centuries. No plantations, no hybrids – just pure, naturally occurring cacao with a flavour that reflects the forest it comes from. It was here that Rasmus found the foundation for Oialla.
For him, chocolate is not confectionery. It is a product of patience, respect and genuine craftsmanship. Every step – from harvesting wild beans to the final chocolate – is guided by the idea that nothing should be rushed, and nothing should get in the way of the true taste of the cocoa.
Rasmus creates chocolate as he approaches all gastronomy: honestly, thoughtfully and without compromise. Oialla is the story of that approach – a meeting between nature and craft, between the rainforest and the chocolatier, told through flavour that speaks for itself
Our Mission
There is no forced child labour in Baures, Bolivia – the home of Oialla’s Beniano cocoa. This is certified and an absolute prerequisite for Oialla to cooperate with local cocoa company, Sumar. The local children are offered free and compulsory primary school and are busy with their studies most of the year.
In many areas of Bolivia the classical stereotypes of men and women still exists. Men are raised to be patriarchs – masculine, strong and hardworking. Meanwhile women take care of the home, meals and children.
To support working women and women empowerment, we therefor aim to recruit mainly women to work with processing the cocoa.
